Phil is passionate about owner-managed enterprise. For him, it is the heart and soul of our economy and civil society.

Since graduating from the University of Toronto Law School (JD) in 1980, Phil has counselled hundreds of business owners and partnerships, and guided the purchase, sale and financing of hundreds of businesses, commercial properties, and hotels.

Phil offers transaction and relationship guidance as a confidential, experienced, and objective neutral who has devoted his career to Canadian business owners as a transactions lawyer, business advisor, board member and intermediary.

Phil is counsel to Mack Lawyers and operates his own law practice through Thompson Transaction Law.
